Burnett Borgia
Chocolate and citrus, Rose-style.
Named for the Burnett intersection — the one you cross if you're coming to us from the south side — and built for the person who always orders a mocha and is ready to be surprised. Dark chocolate, orange syrup, and a wide curl of fresh orange peel on the foam. The oil from the peel is the quietest and most important part of the drink; don't skip it, don't substitute, and don't let the barista forget.
Tasting Notes
- Flavor: dark chocolate forward, bright orange cutting through on the finish, peel oil aromatics on every sip
- Body: creamy mocha weight, structured
- Finish: chocolate-orange long, lifted by the peel oil
How We Build It
Two pumps dark chocolate plus one pump orange syrup in the cup, shots on top. Steamed whole milk poured in and foamed to a dense surface. A wide curl of fresh orange peel laid across the foam — this is the signature of the drink, not a garnish; the oil in the peel is half the flavor. Non-dairy swap works, oat especially.
Perfect For
Holiday season. The drink for someone who always orders a mocha and needs a little nudge. Pair with anything cardamom. The one to introduce chocolate-and-citrus skeptics to the combination — it almost always converts them.
