Sequim Special
White chocolate, lavender, blackberry — a drink about the Olympic Peninsula.
Drive two hours west and you cross a mountain range into another climate. Sequim is where the rain stops, where the lavender farms stretch out in rows, and where the summer light goes on until almost ten at night. The Sequim Special is our shortest love letter to all of it — floral on the first sip, berry on the finish, the chocolate holding it all together underneath.
Tasting Notes
- Flavor: white chocolate forward, lavender floating above, blackberry arriving in the finish
- Body: creamy mocha weight, slightly lighter than a classic chocolate mocha
- Finish: fruit-forward and slightly floral; the kind of finish you taste for an hour
How We Build It
Our espresso goes into a dark cup, then white chocolate sauce, then a half-pump of culinary lavender syrup — enough to find, never enough to taste like soap. Steamed whole milk on top, finished with a drift of dried lavender dusted across the foam. Two whole fresh blackberries rest on the saucer; you can drop them into the drink or eat them between sips. Either way is right.
Perfect For
The second visit, when you've already tried a Latte and want to see what else is possible. Also summer afternoons when the heat gets high enough that a hot drink becomes a slow drink. The pairing we recommend: a plain shortbread, nothing competing.
